Spring is in the air - free pattern for you!


Today I took the Christmas decorations down and packed them all carefully away ready for Townie Husband to put in the loft next time he's down (we have bats and spiders in our loft and I am not very brave about the spiders!).  Then I gave the living room a good dust and hoover, removing huge piles of Ben's fluff from the corner where the tree was standing - proof, if any was needed - that he had spent a good deal of time inspecting the presents beneath!  

In spite of the gales presently howling around the house I am beginning to feel just a little bit spring like now the decorations are gone, so I have dusted down, re-written and re-uploaded one of the first free designs ever from Bustle & Sew - the Hyacinth in a Teacup.  (the picture at the top of this post) It's a very simple design, with just a little applique and easy stitches - but does look very effective when finished.  If you'd like it, then you can download it from here for free. 


I am also busy with a new machine applique design for newsletter readers - which I am hoping to be able to send to them by the end of the week.  Again it's full of spring colours .... but I suspect we've a lot more winter to come before I see flowers like these in my garden again!
